Privacy Policy

Black Rock 100 Mile Club shows a family their child's progress in Black Rock Elementary's 100 Mile Club running program. It's built to know as little as possible: there are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

What stays on your devices

• Your children's names. The names you type in are stored on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account, so they sync between your devices. They are never sent to us.
• Camera. The camera is used only to read the barcode on a runner's card. No photos or video are saved or sent anywhere.
• Preferences, such as appearance and which celebrations you've already seen.

What our server handles

The app talks to a small server we run (hosted on Cloudflare), never directly to the school's lap-tracking system.

• Runner ID. The 14-digit ID from the runner's card is sent to our server so it can fetch that runner's laps from the school's program. We store the ID along with the school name, class name, daily miles and badges the program reports. We never receive the runner's name. Runner IDs appear in our logs only as their last four digits.
• Notifications (optional). If you turn on notifications, we store a random device identifier the app creates, the push token Apple assigns to your device, the runner IDs you follow, your quiet hours and your time zone. We use these only to send the morning update through Apple's push service. Turning notifications off in the app deletes this record.

We do not sell, share or rent any of this data, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not link it to your identity; we never learn who you are.

Children

The app is intended for parents and guardians, who add a runner and may share the screen with their child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: we never receive a child's name, photo, contact details or location.

Retention and deletion

Runner progress is kept for the current school year so the app can show history and badges. Removing a runner from the app stops notifications for them. To have a runner's data deleted from our server, email corey@sprout.works with the last four digits of the runner ID and we'll delete it within 30 days.
