app evaluation
A clear plan for your app, or your idea.
A product, design and engineering review of your iPhone, Mac or web app, or the one you're planning, built around the outcomes you care about and delivered as a private, interactive report.
you pick the goal
Deepest where it matters to you.
Choose up to two. Everything gets a look, but the review goes deepest on the outcomes you care about most. For an idea, the same lenses apply before anything is built.
Get found
Your App Store page, screenshots and first impression, and what turns a visit into an install.
First five minutes
Onboarding, sign-up and the moment your app first proves it's worth keeping.
Keep them coming back
Habits, notifications, widgets and the reasons people return, or don't.
Revenue
Paywalls, trials, subscriptions and checkout: where money is left on the table.
Quality and trust
Crashes, speed, ratings, accessibility and privacy: the things that quietly cost you stars.
Cost and control
Code health, the next iOS update, and taking over from a developer who's moved on.
what you get
Not a PDF. A plan.
Open the sample report, an Evaluation of a fictional café app, to see exactly what you'd get.
01
A private, interactive report
A secure link and a passphrase, sent separately. It works on your phone, with no account to create.
02
A scorecard
Where your app stands across all six areas, at a glance.
03
Prioritized findings
Each one with the why, the fix, and its impact against its effort, shown on annotated screens.
04
Quick wins
Things your team can do this week, whether or not we ever work together again.
05
A real conversation
Time together to walk through it, answer questions and pressure-test priorities.
06
Pick-your-next-step
Choose the findings you want done. They become a fixed-price sprint proposal, if you want one.
how it goes
Four steps to a plan.
01
Book
A short intake: the app, your goals, and what "better" would look like.
02
Kickoff
A conversation about your users, your numbers and your constraints, or for an idea, who it's for and why now.
03
Review
Hands-on time with your app or idea, your reviews, the competition and whatever data you share.
04
Readout
Your private report, then a call to walk through it together.
what we need from you
No code access required.
- A link to the app: the App Store, or a TestFlight invite if it isn't out yet
- Or, for an idea, whatever you have: a sketch, a doc, a voice memo, apps you admire
- A test login, if the app needs one
- Your goals, and anything you already know is wrong
- Optional: analytics screenshots, or App Store Connect access with a limited role, so the review can use real numbers
- Optional: read-only access to your code, if you'd like its health checked too

questions
Before you book.
What kinds of apps can you review?
iPhone, iPad and Mac apps, and web apps. Consumer apps, internal tools, and everything between. If yours is unusual, ask. It's probably fine.
My app isn't in the App Store yet. Is that OK?
Yes. A TestFlight invite works just as well, and an Evaluation before launch is often the most useful kind.
Is what I share kept private?
Yes. The report is encrypted and only opens with the passphrase you're given, what you share is used only for the review, and an NDA is fine.
Can you look at an idea instead of an app?
Yes. The same lenses apply before anything is built: who it's for, what makes it worth keeping, how it earns, and what it would take to build. It's the cheapest moment to change your mind.
