Privacy Policy
Last updated October 13, 2026
Remi is provided by Sprout Works LLC. This policy covers the Remi iPhone app and its relay. Questions about your data? Email corey@sprout.works.
Your saved memories
Remi keeps the words, photos, links and other memories you save on your iPhone and syncs them through the private database in your own iCloud account. There is no separate Remi account. Apple operates iCloud under its own terms and privacy policy; your iCloud settings and available storage affect syncing.
Search vectors, correction history, recent questions and answers, taste guesses and connected-AI feedback are kept locally. Voice is transcribed on the phone. If you choose to retain recordings, they stay in local app storage and Remi's cleanup removes recordings older than 30 days. Raw voice recordings are not sent to the Claude relay. Apple's speech and AI models may need an initial download.
Optional Claude sorting and answers
Remi asks before enabling Claude, an AI service from Anthropic. Turn Smart sorting and answers off in Settings to use on-device sorting and local search. This choice is separate from iCloud, Apple Reminders, weather and a connected AI client.
When you allow Claude, requests can include:
- Your captured words, added thoughts, image or screenshot, and extracted text.
- Relevant names, topics, custom-jar context and Apple Reminders list names used to organize a capture.
- Your question, the saved memories selected as relevant, and relevant open Apple Reminders when that integration is enabled.
- For media or place briefings, a title, type and identifying context such as a description, location or link.
- For taste guesses, media titles, types and the verdicts you gave them.
These words and images can contain personal information. The relevant subset can include much of a small library. AI can make mistakes; you can correct what it files and keep the original capture.
Requests pass through Remi's Cloudflare-hosted relay to Anthropic. Ordinary Claude request bodies are not saved in the relay database. Device verification identifiers, public verification keys and usage counts are retained to authenticate requests, prevent abuse and enforce feature limits. The daily cleanup keeps monthly usage counts for the current month and the previous three months, and daily counts for about two weeks. Verification records are retained as needed to operate and secure the service. Cloudflare and other service providers also process network and security metadata under their own policies.
Under Anthropic's standard API terms, inputs and outputs normally expire within 30 days, with exceptions for safety, policy enforcement or legal requirements. API data is not used for training by default. See Anthropic's retention explanation and training defaults. Turning Claude off stops new Claude feature requests; it does not erase requests already sent from the provider's systems.
For a saved web link, the relay may request the page's title and description. Media and place briefings may use Anthropic's web search. Those websites and providers receive the requests under their own policies.
Link previews and places
The app can request saved web links and their media hosts to show a title or preview image. These requests share the URL and ordinary network metadata with the website and its providers. Preview images and metadata are cached on the phone. This feature operates independently of the Claude setting.
To show a saved place on a map, Remi sends its name and saved area to Apple Maps. If you choose How far?, Remi can request location permission and use your phone's location to calculate distance on the device. Remi does not include that location in its place-search request. Apple operates Maps and device location services under its own privacy policy. Opening a place's website or calling it uses the corresponding service.
Weather and device permissions
Weather is optional and has its own switch. The relay uses an approximate area derived from the network connection, rounds it before requesting a forecast from Open-Meteo, and can cache forecasts by area for about 20 minutes. It does not request your phone's GPS location. Hosting and forecast providers process the request and its network metadata under their policies.
Remi asks for microphone or camera permission for the capture mode you use, notification permission for optional nudges, Apple Reminders access for the integration you choose, and device authentication for optional locking. Photos you select are provided through Apple's picker. Choosing Never for Reminders stops Remi's reads and refreshes; it does not remove reminders already created there.
Connecting an AI that can save to Remi
You can separately connect an AI client to save memories to Remi. It cannot read your private Remi library. Autonomous saving rules are disabled in this release.
Incoming content is sealed to a key whose private part stays in your iCloud Keychain. It waits encrypted on the relay until the app picks it up or for up to 30 days. The relay retains connection identifiers, credential hashes, the public sealing key, OAuth and client details, usage information and connection configuration needed to operate the service. The connected provider already sees what you ask it to save and has its own privacy practices.
Connection credentials and private sealing keys can follow you to your other devices through iCloud Keychain. Disconnect in Settings to revoke the connection; revocation needs a working connection to the relay.
Your controls and deletion
You can edit, archive and delete memories, turn optional services off, lock the app and export your library. Exports include original words and images; you decide where to share them and how long to keep those copies.
Delete everything removes the app's synced library records, local caches, pending captures and notifications, and revokes a connected AI through the relay. Remi reports if it cannot finish. Other devices need to connect to iCloud to receive deletion. Copies in exports, Apple Reminders or a separate AI provider are not automatically erased. Previously submitted API content remains subject to the provider's retention terms. Contact us for questions about retained service metadata.
The app has no advertising, cross-app tracking or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell your saved memories. Visiting this website is covered separately by the Sprout Works website privacy policy.
Children and changes
Remi is not designed for children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to the service, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
When the app's data practices change, we'll update this page and the date above. For privacy or support requests, contact corey@sprout.works.
