What happens in an App Evaluation
A goal-driven review of your app or app idea, and why it starts with what you care about instead of a checklist.
Most app reviews start with a checklist. An App Evaluation starts with a question: what would "better" mean for you?
For one owner it's more downloads. For another it's that people sign up and never come back. For a third it's a developer who has moved on and an app nobody wants to touch. A review that treats those the same way wastes most of its time.
Six things owners actually care about
Every Evaluation looks at all six, and goes deepest on the one or two you pick:
- Getting found: your App Store page, screenshots and first impression.
- The first five minutes: onboarding, sign-up, and the moment the app proves it's worth keeping.
- Coming back: habits, notifications, widgets and the reasons people return.
- Revenue: paywalls, trials, subscriptions and checkout.
- Quality and trust: crashes, speed, ratings, accessibility and privacy.
- Cost and control: code health, the next iOS update, and whether you really own what you've paid for.
How it goes
- Book: a short intake covering the app (or the idea), your goals, and anything you already know is wrong.
- Kickoff: a real conversation about your users, your numbers and your constraints.
- The review: hands-on time with the app on real devices, your App Store listing, your reviews, and whatever data you choose to share.
- Readout: your report, then time together to walk through it.
No app yet? The same six lenses work on an idea, before anything is built. It's the cheapest moment to change your mind.
What you get
Not a PDF that sits in a folder. You get a private, interactive report that opens with a passphrase and works on your phone. It has a scorecard across the six areas, and findings ranked by impact against effort, each shown on the screen where it happens. It also lists quick wins your team can ship right away. Then you pick the findings you want done, and they become a fixed-price sprint proposal, if you want one.
What it costs
An Evaluation is $499, one fixed price, and it's credited toward any next step within 60 days.
That's deliberate. An Evaluation should be the easiest decision you make about your app this year. If the plan is good, the next step sells itself.
